Rainwater tanks at the Nursery in Gryfino
As part of the project Adaptation to climate changes through the development of green and blue infrastructure in Gryfino, 4 above-ground rainwater tanks were installed at the Municipal Nursery in Gryfino. Through this investment, rainwater flowing from the roof of the building will be collected in order to care for the greenery surrounding the nursery.
The Educational Gardens program
From the beginning of October 2022, 160 students from primary schools no. 1, 2 and 3 take part in the Educational Gardens program, which aims to provide lively and practical learning about vegetation and it’s proper care, as well as co-responsibility for the sustainable development of the city and the commune.

First tree adoptions
The tree adoption program is addressed to the inhabitants of the Gryfino Commune and aims to teach them responsibility for public green areas, in particular greenery care. 56 willing residents reported to the City and Commune Office in Gryfino, who decided to take care of the trees growing in the city and in the villages.
Educational corners for children and adults
Two educational corners have been created in the LAGUNA Water Center in Gryfino: one for small children and the other for adult residents of the Gryfino Commune and people visiting the swimming pool complex in Gryfino. The task of both places is education and information about climate changes. The children’s corner includes puzzles, logic and arcade games on ecological topics.
How to make home rain garden?
At the beginning of October, a series of training courses for the inhabitants of the Gryfino Commune on setting up home rain gardens began. The first training took place in Drzenin and was attended by 20 instructors of village centers run by the Gryfino Community Center and members of the Country Housewives Association.
Green Public Forum
On a beautiful autumn Saturday, 17 th of September 2022, took place the first Gryfino Green Public Forum.
Whole “green activities” took place in the relaxing atmosphere of the palace garden in Gryfino: an extremely energetic jazz concert performed by Sylwester Ostrowski and Dorrey Lin Lyles, joint planting of spring flower bulbs (CebuLOVE!), games for children, eco-workshops (making flower bombs and painting reusable shopping bags), a lecture on the importance of urban greenery and a competition with plant prizes, tasty and healthy refreshments.
