Creation of educational corners in Aquapark Laguna

As part of the task, two spaces functioning in the facility were developed: a community garden was created in the “Laguna” patio and an educational corner operating in the ticket office hall. The created places will be conducive to environmental education and integration of residents.

Development of the “Opolanka” recreational area

The development of this area is a continuation of the project from 2018, during which a new recreational area was created from wasteland, which the residents called Opolanka.

Educational Gardens Program for school youth

The program was addressed to school youth and was intended to provide lively and practical learning about vegetation and its proper care, as well as co-responsibility for the sustainable development of the city and the commune.

Training on setting up home rain gardens

The action was addressed to the inhabitants of the town and commune of Gryfino. The aim of the training was practical learning how to set up home rain gardens and transferring knowledge about the importance of rainwater recovery.

Training in building houses for insects and bees

Classes, that took place from November 2022 until June 2023 aimed at teaching children and parents how to easily prepare a house for insects and learning the importance of protecting flora and fauna. During the training, issues related to the importance of insects in nature were also discussed.

Tree adoption program

The program was addressed to the inhabitants of the Gryfino Commune and was aimed at teaching responsibility for public green areas, in particular greenery care.

Green Public Forum

The Green Public Forum aims to familiarize the inhabitants of the Gryfino Commune with the problems of climate change and education on the importance of urban greenery (elimination of the “urban heat island”) and rational water management. Each time the Green Forum will be held in a different location in Gryfino.

Bicycle picnics

Events inaugurating the cycling seasons in 2022 and 2023, finished in an educational picnic aimed at promoting cycling as an alternative form of communication for the car.

The first workshops in Gryfino

A delegation of Icelandic engineers from Verkis visited Gryfino for two days. The purpose of the visit was visiting green areas in the city, which will be developed with greenery and small recreational architecture as part of the project “Adaptation to climate change through the development of green and blue infrastructure in Gryfino”.

Gryfino’s needs and environmental conditions

In March will take place the first workshop meeting with the project partner: Verkis hf. The joint work of experts from Poland and Iceland will be concerned to a topic of understanding the local needs and environmental conditions of our city.
