An example of a rain garden on the Gryfino waterfront – already growing

Employees of the Verkis company from Reykjavik (Project Partner) together with the employees of Investment and Development Department of the Municipality Office and the Sosenka Nature Studio, together made an example of a rain garden on the Gryfino waterfront.

We encourage You to set up gardens at your own homes. On our trainings, you will learn more how to do it, about plants you should use and what are the benefits of having a rain garden.

In addition to aesthetic values, a rain garden is a good place for birds, butterflies and beneficial insects. It eliminates local flooding, retains rainwater, which evaporates and humidifies the air.
